The DreamCloud Mattress Might Be A Good Fit For …
- People who sleep hot at night. Many sleepers find themselves waking up in the middle of the night, drenched in sweat, and this can often be due to their mattress trapping their body heat and directing it back at them – this should not be occurring on the DreamCloud because of its gel-infused foams and airflow-promoting coils.

DreamCloud Firmness And Feel
In terms of firmness, the DreamCloud feels like a 6.5/10, about medium-firm – the top layers are very soft, and it is easy to press my hand in, but I then hit the more supportive layers beneath, and my hand stops. The mix of a plush comfort layer with supportive coils gives the DreamCloud an average firmness.
Lying on the DreamCloud, it has a plush feel, and I do sink in a fair bit; there is some memory foam in the top layers, and it is a little difficult to move around. At the same time, the mattress has a noticeable amount of bounce due to the coils and a more responsive quilted top layer.
The DreamCloud feels best when I am lying on my back; I sink into the top layer, but I still feel supported under my lumbar area and across the rest of my body. I also feel the foam layers take the shape of my body, so I am very comfortable.
Side sleeping on the DreamCloud, I am getting some decent pressure relief. I will note that I weigh 250 lbs, so I am feeling a bit of firmness from the support layers, but lighter people should feel even better pressure relief.
However, the DreamCloud does feel too soft when I am stomach sleeping. I can feel my hips bowing into the mattress somewhat, and I am experiencing some lower back strain.
DreamCloud Motion Transfer
When couples go mattress shopping together, they should find a mattress that works for both of them, and they also want something that will allow each partner to move around at night without disturbing the other. Some mattresses don’t handle this motion transfer well, and it can lead to sleepless nights and strain in the relationship.
To test out the motion isolation capabilities of the DreamCloud, I first placed a glass of water in the center of the mattress. I then pressed into the other areas of the mattress, trying to make a disturbance – the water was not disturbed too much.
This lets me know that the DreamCloud should do a good job of cutting down on motion transfer and should be a good fit for couples.
DreamCloud Edge Support
Couples should also be considering edge support when they are shopping for a mattress. A mattress with great edge support will allow both partners more space to move around and get comfortable.
I sit down on the edge of the mattress and it does collapse a fair amount. I press into the pillow top, and the coils also compress, so I don’t feel very secure sitting down. When I lie down near the edge of the DreamCloud, I feel the edge collapsing, and I do feel like I might roll off the mattress.
Edge support really isn’t a highlight of the DreamCloud mattress.
Medium-Weight Sleepers – 160 lbs
It is always a good idea to think about one’s body weight and size when shopping for a mattress. I am a larger person and weigh 250 lbs, so those who weigh less than me might have a different experience on the DreamCloud. To get a different take on this mattress, I asked Joe, who weighs only 160 lbs, to try out the DreamCloud.
While Marten thought the DreamCloud was a 6.5/10, I thought it was closer to a 6/10, just a bit softer-than-average.
Back sleeping, the DreamCloud is a great match for me. I feel good overall support, and the top layer also conforms to the curves of my body.
Moving to my side, the DreamCloud provides excellent pressure relief on my shoulders and hips. Again, the mattress is softer-than-average, so it is very comfortable for side sleeping.
However, stomach sleeping on the DreamCloud, I do need a bit more support. I would probably need a firmer mattress to support me under my hips.

The DreamCloud is a bed-in-a-box mattress and will be delivered to the doorstep in a large cardboard box. Begin by asking a friend’s help with bringing the mattress inside and into the bedroom – this is a heavier mattress, so be careful when lifting and carrying.
