Dreamfoam Copper Dreams Mattress Firmness and Feel
When writing mattress reviews, we always thoroughly check out each bed’s firmness level and feel. Let’s take a closer look at who the Dreamfoam Copper Dreams will be suited for!
How Firm is the Dreamfoam Copper Dreams?
On our firmness scale, the Dreamfoam Copper Dreams comes in at 6.5/10, or medium firm. The top memory foam layer provides excellent body contouring, and the high-density base foam gives it a great deal of support.
Sleeping On The Dreamfoam Copper Dreams
Generally, back sleepers should feel very supported on the Copper Dreams. This bed-in-a-box hugs the body, providing a nice balance of comfort and support. The Copper Dreams should also be a good match for most side sleepers. The slow-moving memory foam layers alleviate pain on pressure points and support the hips at the same time.
Most stomach sleepers, on the other hand, will likely find the Copper Dreams feels too soft. People who prefer this sleeping position may notice their hips sinking into the top layers, which could lead to back pain over time.
What Does the Dreamfoam Copper Dreams Feel Like?
Fans of the classic slow-moving memory foam feel will love the Copper Dreams mattress. When pressing into the mattress, the layers do not immediately spring back. It has a quicksand sort of feel, and it gently hugs the body.
Average Weight Sleepers – 130lbs – 230lbs
The Copper Dreams should be a good match for average weight back sleepers. The medium firmness level gives just enough pressure relief and support.
Average weight side sleepers should also enjoy the Copper Dreams. Oftentimes in this sleeping position, people can develop shoulder pain over time. The Copper Dream’s slow-moving memory foam, however, helps alleviate pressure on joints, so it should be a good match for side sleepers.
People who weigh closer to 130 lbs should feel well supported while stomach sleeping. Those who are closer to 200 lbs, however, may sink deeper into the comfort layers and find the bed isn’t supportive enough. If this is your preferred sleeping position, you may have better luck with one of the best mattresses for stomach sleepers.
Heavyweight Sleepers – Over 230lbs
Most heavyweight sleepers should feel supported while back and side sleeping. Those who weigh closer to 300lbs, however, may sink deeper into the comfort layers and feel less pressure relief. Instead, people in this category should take a look at the top mattresses for heavy people.
The Copper Dreams isn’t a great match for heavier stomach sleepers. The slow-moving memory foam layers likely won’t keep hips in the proper alignment, and it could cause back pain over time.
Lightweight Sleepers – Under 130lbs
No matter the sleeping position, the Copper Dreams is a great fit for lightweight sleepers. People who weigh less than 130 lbs should enjoy soft body contouring while lying on their backs, and they should notice ample pressure relief while relaxing on their sides. Even while stomach sleeping, the Copper Dreams should keep lightweight sleepers’ bodies in alignment throughout the night.
Dreamfoam Copper Dreams Mattress Construction
Now let’s unzip the cover and take a look at the Copper Dream’s construction. Here’s what you’ll find in each layer.
Cover
The Copper Dreams has a cover made with a premium smooth top weave, which is designed to make the mattress feel cool-to-the-touch.
Comfort Layers
In the 13” medium firm model, the first comfort layer has 3” of memory foam with a copper-graphite infusion. This is designed to draw heat away from the body and keep the mattress cool.
Below this sits a 2” layer of memory foam, which aids in contouring the body and provides pressure point relief.
Support Layer
A 2” layer of transition foam comes next. Below that sits a 6” layer of high-density base foam, which gives the mattress a supportive medium-firm feel.
Mattress Height
The medium firm model is 13” tall.

Dreamfoam Copper Dreams Mattress Performance
We know the Copper Dreams is a great choice for people who prefer medium-firm mattresses. Now, let’s look closely at its cooling features, motion transfer, edge support, and durability.
Sleeping Hot or Cold
The Copper Dreams is designed for people who tend to sleep hot at night. The smooth top weave in the cover helps keep the mattress cool to the touch, and the graphite-copper infusions are meant to wick away heat and promote airflow. Even though it’s an all-foam mattress, the Copper Dreams should keep sleepers cool.
Motion Transfer
Motion transfer is an important aspect to take into consideration when shopping for a new bed – especially for couples. If a bed doesn’t isolate motion well, sleepers may feel disturbed by their partner’s movements in the middle of the night.
Like most all-foam beds, the Copper Dreams has great motion isolation. We tested this by placing a full glass of water on one side of the bed and pushing into the top layers around it. We noticed the water in the glass barely moved, so the Copper Dreams performs well in terms of motion transfer.
Edge Support
When sitting on the edge of the mattress, we noticed the bed collapsing around us. When lying near the edge, we feel like we could completely roll off it. If edge support is an especially important feature, you may want to look elsewhere.
Durability
Because the Copper Dreams is a value mattress, it won’t last as long as some of Brooklyn Bedding’s high-end models. We expect this mattress to last 5-7 years.
Off-Gassing
Off-gassing, or the presence of a slight chemical smell, is common with most bed-in-a-box brands. We did notice an odor when opening the Copper Dreams, but the smell completely faded after 48 hours.
Noise
Because the Copper Dreams doesn’t have innersprings, it’s an extremely quiet mattress. We do not anticipate noise becoming an issue with this bed.
Sex
Couples looking for a good mattress for sex usually want something that’s responsive and easy to move around on. If this is a top priority, the Copper Dreams may not be right for you. This memory foam mattress has a slow-moving quicksand feel, so it’s not especially easy to shift positions on it. Instead, you may want to take a look at the best mattresses for sex.

Company Policies
Before buying a new bed, we always recommend people read the company policies. Below, you’ll find more information about Dreamfoam’s warranty, sleep trial, and return policy.
Warranty Info
Dreamfoam is backed by a 10-year warranty.
Sleep Trial
All Dreamfoam mattresses have a 120-night sleep trial period.
Return Policy
If you aren’t satisfied with your Copper Dreams mattress during the sleep trial period, you can return it for a full refund. However, Dreamfoam asks its customers to try out their new bed for at least 30 days before returning.
Common Dreamfoam Mattress Complaints
Most customers are satisfied with their Dreamfoam bedding mattresses, but we do occasionally come across a few negative reviews. Generally, this has to do with sleep trial periods and warranty information. We always encourage people to thoroughly read the company policies before purchasing a new mattress.
Some customers have complained about the Copper Dreams firmness level. Because it’s a medium-firm model, it’s not the best fit for stomach sleepers.
How Does The Dreamfoam Copper Dreams Compare To Other Mattresses?
It’s always a good idea to check out several different options before making a final decision. Let’s see how the Copper Dreams compares to other popular mattress models!

Dreamfoam Copper Dreams vs. Brooklyn Bedding Signature
The Copper Dreams and Brooklyn Bedding Signature mattresses come from the same company, but they have many differences. They’re both made with quality materials, but the Brooklyn Bedding is more luxurious and durable. The Brooklyn Bedding Signature is a hybrid mattress made with Ascension Coils and Energex Foam. This gives it a springy bounce and a pillow top feel.
Both mattresses have a medium-firm feel and are good options for combination sleepers. Those who want to save a bit of money, though, may want to opt for the Copper Dreams.
Who Should Get The Copper Dreams?
- Those who want to save money
- People who like that slow-moving memory foam feel
Who Should Get The Brooklyn Bedding Signature?
- People who want a higher-end mattress that’s more durable
- Those who prefer a bouncy mattress with a pillow top feel

Dreamfoam Copper Dreams vs. Allswell
Unlike the Copper Dreams, the original Allswell mattress is made with coils and memory foam layers. Fans of a bouncy innerspring feel will prefer the Allswell, and those who like a slow-moving memory foam feel will want to choose the Copper Dreams.
The Allswell scored a 7.5/10 on our firmness scale, so it’s a great fit for back and stomach sleepers. The Copper Dreams, on the other hand, has a medium-firm feel, so it’s a better pick for side sleepers.
Both mattresses have low price points, but they likely won’t last as long as luxury models.
