Many of us know about Presidents Day, the American holiday that’s always celebrated on the third Monday in February, but not everyone is aware that it was originally dedicated to commemorating George Washington’s birthday back in 1885, according to History.com. In the 1970s the celebration was moved as part of the Uniform Monday Holiday Act as a way to establish more three-day weekends for federal employees – who knew!
